I've tried everything - this works!
I have an older pitbull, very very picky and suspicious of pills and meds. I've tried hiding pills in cheese, meat, you name it. I've ground them and mixed into food, into cottage cheese (which he loves) etc., and as soon as he can taste or feel that pill or capsule, fuggedaboutit.
My vet gave me her sample of Camo Pill, and invited me to be her guinea pig. I'm so glad she did! I would buy this stuff by the case. I let our pup try a few small balls of paste - about the size of a pea - to discover that he loved it. I've now been using it for a week to give him 5 pills in the morning and 2 at dinnertime, and he happily gobbles them down every time.
Pure gold.

Sadly, didn't work with my kitty
I suspect the strong odor is what turned my kitty off. After a few sniffs, she was done. Even I thought it smelled yucky, but I'm a people. One of her daily pills is very small, which makes it hard to get down her throat, so I tried that one first. I used as a small amount as possible and she refused. She gets an after pill treat--Smartbites--and I put the tiny blob of pill/Camo Pill with her "treat." She ate the Smartbite but not the disguised pill. Thinking she could smell the pill inside the Camo Pill, I tried a small blob straight from the container. Nope.
If they had this in chicken, I suspect she'd be all over it. She'd sell her kitty soul for chicken.

Only thing we can give her pills with that she can digest
From Seattle WAComments about Camo PillThe only thing we can use to give our Formosan Mountain Dog her pills. I paid $100 for chicken-flavored chewable gabapentin and she refused to eat it. But wrap it up in camo pill and it's fine. Cream cheese also works, but that gives her tummy problems. So camo pill it is. The only complaint is I would appreciate it is a bigger tub! We play a game of touch in which I give her multiple balls of this stuff, and only one of those balls has the pill (we have to be extra sneaky). So we go through a lot of it. -
Exceptional Flexibility for Variety of Pill Types
From Redwood City, CAComments about Camo PillLove this product because it provides exceptional flexibility to wrap the pill/medication using only a little smear or a lot and my dogs love it; it's also got a formulation that doesn't dry out quickly so it lasts in the container!! -
Better ingredients- easy to use
From UndisclosedComments about Camo Pill 4.2oz (113g) TubPretty good. Easy to mold and shape around the pill. However my cat seems less attracted to the flavor versus Pill Pockets, but I prefer the ingredients in Camo Pill, so will continue using it as long as it works for my cat. -
Easy to use.
From UndisclosedComments about Camo Pill 4.2oz (113g) TubI have used this product for over a year. It is simple to use. Just wrap the pill in a pinch of it, and pop it in your pet's mouth. It is the only way I can give my cat the bitter tasting medication he needs. It totally masks the taste. A great product. -
Works, but sometimes my cat outsmarts it
From UndisclosedComments about Camo Pill 4.2oz (113g) TubUseful to disguise pills, but sometimes my kitty recognizes them anyway. -
Just What I Needed
From UndisclosedComments about Camo Pill 4.2oz (113g) TubI have a holistic vet who recommended I use Camo Pill because I have a dog who refuses to take his Denamarin medicine. I tried covering the pill with everything, cheese, peanut butter, etc., but he would just spit the pill out. Camo Pill is the only thing that has worked. So, I would highly recommend this product. -
This Camo Pill paste Really Works
From Fremont CAComments about Camo PillMax can detect a pill disguised as anything. He eats the good stuff and spits out the pill no matter what I hid it in except this Camo Pill paste. This stuff he wolfs down without hesitation. -
Update for humid weather from Pittie Mom
From PrincetonComments about Camo PillUpdate: I have been using Camo Pill for months now and it has been a godsend with my aging pittie, who is now up to 12 pills a day. The update I would add to my earlier review is that I've noticed that since the weather has been more humid, the paste is a bit tackier, which has proved to be a turnoff for Mr. Pitt. Solution: I ground up some of his favorite kibble in the blender, and roll the covered pills in the powder so they're not so sticky. Works like a charm. Also I agree with cat mom - chicken flavor for kitties is a great idea! -
