Bio-Coat
What is Bio-Coat?
Bio-Coat (previously known as itch-ex) is a biotin supplement for cats and dogs that contains 6 mg of biotin per teaspoonful of powder. Bio-Coat is recommended only for biotin deficiencies with skin; dry skin, coat scratching, poor coat, and excessive shedding. Bio Coat contains the following vitamins: B12, inositol, choline, biotin, niacin, thiamine, pantothenic acid, riboflavin, P-Amino Benzoic Acid, B6, and folic acid. Bio-Coat also contains the minerals potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron, copper, manganese, and selenium. Bio-Coat may reduce itching and shedding and may improve your pet’s coat. Talk to your pet's veterinarian before starting Bio-Coat.
How to use Bio-Coat:
The scoop provided is a ¼ teaspoonful; Bio-Coat’s manufacturer recommends sprinkling the powder on food or mixing it into your pet’s food. They recommend dogs under 30 lbs and all cats should take one scoop daily and dogs over 30 lbs should take one scoop for every 30 lbs daily.

They enjoy the flavor and would eat it on its own but we mix it in their wet food. Pip still has dandruff but it is not as bad. His coat is also more smooth. Each cat's coat is different - long and short fur combined, rough and smooth. They all now have a different, better feel. I get this in the biggest container possible. It all gets used. Our beagle, however, does not seem to like this, which seems odd. -
Great Product
From Kauai County, HI, USAComments about Bio-CoatI have been buying this product for over two years. I first bought it when one of my dogs who was a rescue dog got red mange for the second time. The products the vet subscribed were basically poison to kill the critters inside of her and they were really affecting her. I looked up on the internet for natural remedies and found several recommendations including echinacea, omega, and biotin. I added all of them to her food and she got better. Her coat became very glossy and healthy looking also, so I started adding the biotin to all of my dogs food. I have another dog with skin allergy problems (she gets hot spots easily) and this really helps her also. We have a new puppy who is now 6 months old. Her breeder and sister came for a visit the other day and there is a big difference between our dogs coat and her sister's. I strongly recommend this product.
