Amoxicillin Drops
Amoxicillin is a prescription penicillin antibiotic that is commonly used to prevent and treat infections caused by certain strains of bacteria. This medication works by causing death of bacteria by weakening and rupturing the cell wall. If your pet has been diagnosed with a bacterial infection or a related disease caused by bacteria, your veterinarian may prescribe an antibiotic such as amoxicillin. Consult with your veterinarian before administering this medication and follow their specific recommendations for use.

Yes, mixing the medication with milk, or another liquid, will not harm anything. Be sure to mix the medication with a small volume of liquid so that your dog will finish in a reasonable amount of time to ensure that they receive their full dosage of amoxicillin.

what would happen if I give my cat the amoxi drops that have been mixed with water and have been in my refrigerator for 6 weeks? Its well past the 14 day expiration.?

Lisa, Medication should never be used past its expiration date and should be discarded once expired. The effects of the medication after the expiration as it have not been studied beyond the 14 days. The drug may be ineffective, contaminated, or chemically modified at this point.
