Adams Plus Flea & Tick Collar for Dogs and Cats
What is Adams Plus Flea and Tick Collar:
The Adams Plus collar kills fleas, ticks, flea eggs, and flea larvae because it contains propoxur and (S)-methoprene in an easy to use collar. There are collars for dogs and cats, so be cautious when checking out to make sure you have the correct product. The Adams Plus Collar is indicated for puppies and kittens 12 weeks and older. The dog collar should provide up to 5 months of protection, whereas the cat collar should provide up to 8 months of protection. The adams collars are created with breakaway technology, increasing the safety if your pet gets the collar caught while wearing it.

So Far So Good
From Louisiana, USAComments about Adams Plus Flea and Tick CollarI bought this collar about 2 weeks ago. Before I put it on my dog (Rex) I gave him a bath to make sure I killed all fleas first, after he dried I put the collar on. So far I have not found any ticks or fleas. The collar does have a strong odor, it smells kinda sour, but if it works I'll put up with it. The smell doesn't seem to bother Rex-

Does this collar prevent against all ticks especially the deer tick? Also what if my dog gets wet will collar be effective ?
-
Glen, The packaging indicates that the collar does not need to be replaced if your dog becomes temporarily wet. It does not, however, indicate effectiveness after prolonged water exposure. The manufacturer also states that the collar is effective against deer ticks. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Charlie, If there are any signs of damage to the Adams Plus Flea and Tick collar, we recommend replacing it due to possible malfunction of the device. This product may be harmful to your pet if swallowed. It is important to contact a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice if this does occur. When collar is first worn, observe neck area every few days for irritation and remove it at the first sign of irritation or adverse reaction.
