I've been using the inhaler for a few months, and I am not sure how I know the inhaler is empty. How many puffs did the bottle hold? The description says 200 meters inhalations, but I've been using 8.5 g, two times a day, and the bottle seems to be pretty empty after 2-3 weeks. Then, why dosage is the same regardless of their Net grams? I don't understand it. Please advise me.?
-
The 3 different variations of Albuterol Sulfate HFA inhaler are generic equivalents to the brand name forms called Proventil HFA, ProAir HFA and Ventolin HFA. Each Albuterol Sulfate HFA inhaler will contain 200 metered inhalations or puffs, per canister. Each generic variation will deliver the same dosage from the mouthpiece equivalent to 90 micrograms of albuterol per puff. The net gram weight is the weight of the contents inside the canister. The difference in net gram weight between the 3 products is due to variability in inactive and propellant ingredients, however each product will deliver the same amount of the active drug, albuterol. There is a small window either on the front or back of the inhaler that will display the remaining number of puffs in the canister. How long the inhaler will last is dependent upon how many puffs are administered daily. Please refer to the enclosed Patient Instructions for Use, included in each box to follow specific priming and cleaning instructions for the individual inhaler variations. Please feel free to contact your veterinarian or VetRxDirect with further questions regarding the albuterol inhaler

Is this a powder or non-powder version? My vet told me to purchase one that is "non-powder". I can't find anything in the description specifying if this is the correct one.?
-
This product is a non-powder version. The HFA in the name stands for hydrofluoroalkane, a propellant used to deliver the medication to the lungs via aerosolization. This product can be used in dogs and cats with an appropriate mask and spacer. Here is a link to the product for dogs up to 20 lbs and over 20 lbs. Here is a link to the product for cats. For future reference, we do not carry dry powder inhalers (DPI) because cats and dogs are not able to perform the necessary inhalation technique to use DPIs.
